The Ancient Americas (Video Guide)

Introduction:

Today we are starting a new unit on Mesoamerica.  This is the area that encompasses a large part of Mexico, Central and South America. Many of the empires that were created in Mesoamerica during the late medieval age rival the size, scope and power of many of their European and Asian counterparts.  In addition, many of the civilizations that evolved during this place and time had a profound effect on the inhabitants of the United States, especially in areas close to our border with Mexico.
