How to navigate this course:

Notice the pages listed on the left side of this screen. These pages are where all the information for this course is located. Please read below for an explanation of what is included on each page.

Home: This is the welcome page with our course standards, my contact information and intro video, and my online office hours. Please email me with any questions or needed clarification and I will get back to you within 24 hours. During online office hours, I will respond immediately to emails in the order in which they are received. Very important: There is a "view course calendar" button located in the upper right corner of the home screen. The calendar is also accessed on the left side of the screen using the calendar button. This calendar provides all due dates and links back to each assignment. On the right side of the screen, you will also notice a "to-do list" with a sequential list of upcoming assignments. You can click the small "x" next to each to-do list item as you complete them if desired and then they will be removed from your to-do list.  UWG Reviewers: Note: The calendar tools require a login to Cherokee County Schools. Therefore, I have included a PDF calendar within the syllabus and on the course home page.
Syllabus: You are on this page now. It has all assignments, due dates, and course information in one place for reference as needed.
Modules: This is where the four course modules are accessible in the progressive order in which you should complete your coursework. These modules include content videos, graphic organizers, as well as all assignments. Each module begins with a required overview video that should be viewed prior to beginning each module. These videos will walk students through the entire module and give instructions and expectations.
Assignments: In addition to being linked to the modules page, all assignments are sequentially listed. Clicking on each assignment will give you completion and submission instructions, due dates, and rubrics if applicable.
Discussions: In addition to being linked to the modules page, all discussions are listed here as well.  To complete each discussion you should click "reply" below the discussion directions and type your discussion in the box that appears. Once your classmates post their discussions, you will be able to reply to their posts to fulfill assignment requirements.
Grades: Once assignments are graded, this is where I will post your grades.
Quizzes: In addition to being linked to the modules page, this "Quizzes" page has links to any online assessments, such as surveys, quizzes, and tests.
NearPod: NearPod.com is an external tool used for presenting material and assessing your understanding. Each presentation will consist of information and submissions based on your understanding of the course topics. Each presentation is linked to the appropriate module. However, if you have trouble accessing any presentation using the module link,  go to this NearPod page (or even NearPod.com in a separate tab) and use the NearPod.com code mentioned in the assignment directions. This will allow you access to the presentations. UWG reviewers: This is an add-on app through Cherokee County and not accessible on this public page. Access NearPod.com in a separate tab, as suggested in the instructions, to view these resources.
BrainPOP: Similarly to the NearPod page, this is an external website used for instruction and assessment. If you have trouble accessing a video or the Make-A-Map concept map tool using the module links, you can access your school BrainPOP.com account on this page (or BrainPOP.com on a different tab) and find the necessary videos or tools here. UWG reviewers: This is an add-on app through Cherokee County and not accessible on this public page. Access BrainPOP.com in a separate tab, as suggested in the instructions, to view these resources.
Announcements: I will use this announcements page if I need to communicate with the entire class about something not already addressed through this syllabus or within a module. You will also receive an email with the information if I ever make an announcement. Email me directly if you have any further questions regarding an announcement.
