Course Description:

Math 105 is the terminal mathematics course for the student majoring in the liberal arts.  The course includes various topics in mathematics, such as logic, sets, financial management, geometry, probability, and statistics.  

Textbook Information:  A Survey of Mathematics, ©2021, 11th ed., Angel/Abbot/Runde, Pearson

Additional Course Information:  The Prerequisite for this course is MATH 083, or MATH 084, or equivalent skills as measured by placement into Math 105 according to the Santa Ana College Math Department’s placement standards.

Course Learning Objectives:  Students will learn some practical mathematics that they can use every day and that will prepare them for further mathematics courses

Student Learning Objectives:

Students are expected to use their prerequisite algebraic skills to solve math problems and to demonstrate collegiate-level skills to research and write about the applications and history of mathematics.

Grading Standard:

This is a letter-graded course. Grade distribution is listed in the Syllabus and your grade information will be updated weekly and made available through Canvas.
